True thing. Unfortunally it stay cool to be one of this trooper no matter what ther politicans who want them, or a few of them, to comit crimes. So a society can attack politicans(what doesn´t change anything) or want ther troops, who are also citizens of the country, to refuse or fight these crimes. But these things are illegal in most command structures, so ther is just the path to pull the troops in  responsibility. It may sound rhetorically but ...you would say a member of the Mafia is a criminal, no matter what or if he did something illegal yet. Wouldn´t you?
I see war as a thing you can´t deny or refuse through will. It would be nice without it, but it would also be nice without the 95% of mankind who make it a need. You have to stay ready for defense as a nation, and possibly you can mind about a smart help for other countrys(and fuck ther ressources as well as the political evolution there in 80% of all cases ...counter is rising). But you have to make your troops responsible for ther actions, no matter who have command it. If the soldier have the chance to refuse a crime, a lot wouldn´t follow this criminal orders, and the rest can´t be protectet by criminal politicans or patriotic slogans.
I want a stamp that tell all this in way shorter words......

I hate war and the higher ups who start it. It's easy for them to start wars because they stay nice and safe tucked away in their office somewhere while the troops are being forced to attack and kill their fellow humans who are also just trying to defend their loved ones and country.

If you're referencing politicians when you mention "higher ups", then yeah, totally.
(We tend to refer to high ranking Soldiers are "higher ups", so I'm not sure what you mean)

Why hate the war? The war hasn't done anything. The soldiers fight the war, they are the ones who kill and rape, not the war. If soldiers never showed up, there would be no war. Just saying.

Ignorance? How so? If soldiers never showed up to fight, there would be no war. If there was no war, there would be no war crimes. The world is better off without soldiers to fight the wars, it only breeds hate, pain and death. So tell me, how is that ignorance?

"Why hate the war? The war hasn't done anything. The soldiers fight the war"
Soldiers do not start war. They go to war through orders from their government.

"The soldiers fight the war, they are the ones who kill and rape, not the war"
Soldiers, yes, fight the war. However the accusation of rape is terribly fabricated. But I'll ignore that bit and emphasize again that the soldiers do no cause the fighting, their governments send them to fight.

"If soldiers never showed up, there would be no war."
Again, seriously. Soldiers do not arrive and create a war. Their government sends them there. The war is declared and acted upon before the first soldier's boot hit ground.

"The world is better off without soldiers to fight the wars, it only breeds hate, pain and death"
Do not mistake the honor and morale behind soldiers for irrational and self-righteous declaration of their government. Every soldier I know to include myself enlisted not to go to war and kill but to be able to provide from themselves and for their families. Your bold accusations not only offend me but disgrace everything that I stand for.

So hopefully from this you should realize that the true enemy, if any, if the governmental forces that send their soldiers to fight in the war's that they declared. Soldiers and the military they belong to are not mercenaries that voyage the world bringing warfare behind them. THAT is how what you said was ignorant.

It does not matter if they start it. They fight it. If they did not fight, the war cannot do anything.
So the soldiers cannot rape and kill? Odd, considering not even three years into the war a soldier was on trial for raping a girl and killing her, her family and setting fire to their home. So tell me, how would you tell the family of those victims that it was all fabricated? Hmm?

Once again, they don't have to show up. What are the politicians going to do? Court martial them all? Not likely.

And your point is what? If soldiers did not exist, then no war can be fought. If no war is fought, war crimes are not committed.

The government barks orders, and like obedient dogs the soldiers carry out the atrocities.

"It does not matter if they start it. They fight it." What does a person do, then? Let's say this...a person is about to rape somebody else. Should the victim not fight back? If somebody starts beating you up, do you just let them have their way with you? By your logic, the victim would be just as bad as the criminal for trying to defend their rights.

"If they did not fight, the war cannot do anything." Look at all the things that happen pre-war. Do you think everything would be alright if death camps were still in use? Plain and simple, people either fight for their rights, or they allow others to destroy what they have.

"Soldiers can't rape and kill?" You assume that every soldier is a rapist? Those are the criminals that choose to take advantage of their place. In this world, not every person can be saved. To save people, you must eliminate those that threaten your freedom and rights.

"Once again, they don't have to show up." Once again, they don't have to. They can watch their homes, their families, their friends, everything they knew fall into the hands of destruction.

"If soldiers did not exist, then no war can be fought." False. Soldiers don't exist to go to war. War exists to create soldiers to fight for freedom. And what starts wars? Ambition, greed, religion, lifestyles, just being different.

"If no war is fought, war crimes are not committed." Well then, you would be living in a world where it would be legal for somebody to kill you for even daring to speak your mind. Chances are, you would be in a death camp, because nobody fought. You would be in a world where freedom is nonexistent.

"The government barks orders, and like obedient dogs the soldiers carry out the atrocities." It isn't as easy as you would think to declare a war. A war means death in mass numbers, but is also means that something important is in danger. Again, freedom. The soldiers can choose to ignore the government. The government doesn't hand out the punishment for ignoring them, the enemy soldiers do.

"The world is better off without soldiers to fight wars, it only breeds hate, pain and death." Wrong again. Humans are all different. They have different ideals, morals, ambitions, tolerances for differences in others, and so on. Hate is not made by war, but the fact that people can't accept the fact that others are different. Even before a war starts, death has already occurred. In the end,  a war is a battle to settle the differences in people. There are only two alternatives: the extinction of all humans, or the elimination of freedom. The people who died in past wars would have died in vain if the freedom that so many people have claimed was destroyed.

"Soldiers may have the best intentions, but once they are on the battlefield, killing and watching others kill, that is when I view them as murderers." What is worse, killing those that are trying to take your rights, or doing nothing, allowing the enemies to do as they please?

"Also, last year there were a number of rapes in the military against female soldiers." The rapists are not real soldiers. What they have done is treason, and they live every day of their lives, knowing that they will be looked upon not as soldiers, but rapists.

"Prove me wrong that they serve a purpose other than killing and intimidation." Have you ever heard of Bloody Mary? She is a tyrant queen who would sentence people to death if they were not catholic. Adolf Hitler would have people sent to death camps because they were jewish. Again, would you enjoy it if you could be killed all because you think differently? Without soldiers, you would be a slave to the dictators and tyrants that were never stopped.

"Actually, they search out anybody that looks mexican. A number of patrolmen have gotten in trouble for singling people out. That is racist." *Slow clapping* Good job. You fell back to the racist card. Is it just me, or am I sensing a pattern here, with you ignoring the good deeds and pointing out the bad? People from different parts of the world have different customs. Look at how the law differs from country to country. You can't just sneak into another country and assume you know what good behavior and bad behavior are in a different country. Oh, it is illegal to eat dogs in this country? My bad! This country uses different money? I would have never known! I won't be thrown in prison for showing public affection in this country? I'm surprised!

"Actually, I can. Ever hear the phrase "A chain is only as strong as its weakest links." Have you ever heard the phrase, "Don't judge a book by its cover"? The only thing you are looking at is the cover. All you see is the negative stereotype, and not what lies within the actual pages. A bad apple ruins the whole bunch, but they aren't the only apples to be collected. The weakest link can be replaced, as one can gather better apples. Yet again, I'll point something out that was brought out multiple times.

"Well, the soldiers that rape and kill are your weakest links, thus destroying ever "good" thing you all work for. " The good things they have worked for is not destroyed. The chain will always have a link that grows weak, no matter what the chain is about. That weak link can be fixed or replaced by a better link.

"Also, if you were ordered to kill, I'm willing to bet you would follow your orders and become a murderer." That's easy for you to say, as you live so warm and comfortably in your home, with your nice little computer. Realize it or not, you wouldn't have that home of yours if nobody fought for your rights. What would you do, if you knew that your very way of life was in danger? What would you do if you had children, and their future was threatened? When push comes to shove, would you sacrifice your innocence for the future's sake, or would you just sit back and watch your world as it is destroyed?

"I have been around the military all my life. I have every right to have an opinion about something that I've been around all my life." Yes, you have a right to your opinion. That doesn't mean you are in the right for stating your thoughts and opinions as if they were facts. The military is not in the wrong just because you think they are.

So the account of one confirms the possibility of all? So since a human did that, am I to assume all humans did that; to include yourself? No.And, per your example, if a soldier were to disobey an order from the commanding chief (to deploy or otherwise), yes, a court martial would probably be place. We have an article on just that, friend. There are stipulations and mandates for everything from a single soldier to a brigade-sized element. I certainly do believe action would be taken against any soldier breaking the oath they made. And try to think of a second, not all soldiers are the monsters you make them out to be. The same way not every person of the Muslim faith is a terrorist, not all soldiers are disgraceful abominations. Most of the men and women I work with are people trying to make a living for those they care about. I, as a soldier, don't believe that every civilian in Afghanistan is a Jihad extremist or everyone in L.A. gang-banger; try not to have the same attitude towards us. What I'm trying to say is do not hate the soldier for the predicament that he is in, hate the abomination he is forced to be in.

A single abomination should not affect the reputation of an entirety. Not every white person is a neonazi Klan member, not every black person is a gangster, not every Latino is an illegal immigrant, not every soldier is a monster. Try to remember that when you defend the reputation of anyone else, alright? Cheers.

Not just one, and no. However, all humans have the potential for it, especially when in a seat of power, such as being a soldier. Soldiers may have the best intentions, but once they are on the battlefield, killing and watching others kill, that is when I view them as murderers. Also, last year there were a number of rapes in the military against female soldiers. The best result that came out of them were either a court martial, or the rapist was transferred.
I have been around the military all my life. I have every right to have an opinion about something that I've been around all my life.

Again, human can error. I'm not saying everyone in the military is a saint. There are a lot of terrible people who disgrace our name, I'm not denying that fact but you can't associate an entire organization due to a few black sheep; regardless of what organization it is. And as far as viewing those who kill enemies as "murderers", that's on your conscience. But please note something: Not every soldier kills, I've yet to take a life and I plan on keeping it that way. And the "having an opinion on something you've been around" isn't what I'm talking about. You're free to hate the military, I don't give a shit. I just thought I'd try to point out the simplicity and irrationality in your judgment that soldiers create war we fight in and we're all rapist murderers.

Amen to that! There is no word for how terrible war is, but being against the troops is ridiculous. They fight and lose their lives for us because, sadly, as long as there are people, there will be wars (especially with the way America behaves...) If we don't have the troops...hah, we'd be in sorry shape right now.
